Cancellations & refunds

What happens when a booked session can't go ahead. Rules apply equally to professionals and verifiers.

Re-verification guarantee

If your verification verdict is develop, you get a 30% discount on your next verification with any verifier on Zealoq, valid for two weeks from when your report is published. You always pay your verifier for the session you booked - they spent the hour, gave you a calibrated read, and wrote a real report. The discount is what comes next: a roadmap of which skills to work on, recommended verifiers whose strengths match your gaps, and money toward the retake.

The point: a passed verdict is the credential. A borderline verdict is a calibrated read with a path to passed. A developverdict isn’t a failure - it’s the most honest read in the market and your next attempt comes half-priced.

Verdict = develop. We auto-issue the discount code when the report is published - you’ll see it on the report page next to the recommended verifiers.

How to use it

Paste the code at booking checkout (or hand it to a verifier during pre-payment - ops will honor it). Single use, 30% off, 14 days from publish.

Why we don't offer full refunds

Verifiers shouldn’t be paid less for an honest develop than they would be for a verify. Tying their pay to the verdict creates pressure to grade-inflate - which would destroy the only thing Zealoq sells: a credential that means something.

Professional cancels

More than 24 hours before

Full refund. No fee.

Between 12 and 24 hours before

50% refund. The other 50% goes to the verifier as a partial appearance fee - they blocked the time.

Less than 12 hours before

No refund. The verifier blocked the time.

Verifier cancels

More than 24 hours before

Full refund to the professional. No penalty to the verifier - it happens.

Between 12 and 24 hours before

Full refund to the professional + a $20 inconvenience credit toward their next session, paid by Zealoq.

Less than 12 hours before

Full refund + a $50 inconvenience credit, plus a strike on the verifier’s reliability record. Three strikes in 90 days triggers a review.

No-show

Professional no-show

The session is treated as completed. No refund. The verifier still writes a report based on submitted materials, or marks the session as missed.

Verifier no-show

Treated as a less-than-12-hour cancellation by the verifier, with the same credits + strike.

10-minute grace period

We allow 10 minutes before declaring no-show. Either party can mark it via the session page; ops can adjust if there’s a dispute.

Reschedules

Either party can propose a reschedule for free up to 24 hours before the session. Inside 24 hours, the cancellation rules above apply unless both parties agree to reschedule.

Refund mechanics

Refunds go to the original payment method via Stripe and typically clear within 5–10 business days. Marketplace fees on the refunded portion are also returned.

Inconvenience credits land in your Zealoq balance and apply automatically to your next eligible booking.

Disputes

If you believe the policy was applied incorrectly, email uswithin 7 days of the session. We aim to resolve disputes within 5 business days. Stripe chargeback rights remain available; we’d prefer to resolve through us first.
