Portfolio Review

Verdict: passedSlava has a solid foundation, but both the CV and portfolio would benefit from stronger structure, clearer positioning, and more focused curation.

3 partial

The main priority is to simplify and refine the CV, particularly the skills and links, while restructuring the portfolio around fewer, stronger and more relevant case studies. The existing case studies should be polished from both storytelling and UI quality perspectives, and the portfolio could be elevated further by moving to a personal website with greater control over presentation. Adding a few relevant projects, especially those connected to recognizable Armenian companies or products, would also strengthen the overall profile and demonstrate broader experience.

Evidence

What happened in the session

.CV structure: During the live CV review, we went through the current structure and identified that the hierarchy could be improved to make the profile easier to scan. We discussed restructuring the CV and validating the new approach against current Senior Product/UI/UX Designer standards using GPT or Claude. Skills section: We reviewed the Skills section and identified several tools/skills that overlap or add limited value. The decision was to reduce the list and keep only the most relevant skills and tools rather than prioritizing completeness. Links and consistency: We noticed that LinkedIn is presented as a clean hyperlink while the portfolio is displayed as a raw URL. We agreed that the links should follow one consistent presentation pattern and that the portfolio should be more immediately recognizable. Portfolio curation: While reviewing the portfolio together, we discussed removing weaker or unnecessary case studies and visual shots. The tradeoff was to show fewer but stronger projects, with more emphasis on relevance and quality than quantity. Existing case study: We reviewed the current case study in detail and identified UI/presentation issues that should be addressed before using it as a strong portfolio piece. Portfolio platform: We discussed moving from the current portfolio platform to a personal website. The reasoning was to gain more control over the visual framework, storytelling, navigation, and overall professional presentation. Future case studies: We identified a gap in the current portfolio around relevant local product experience and discussed adding stronger case studies, particularly projects connected to recognizable Armenian companies/products, where appropriate.

Action plan

What to do next

Restructure and refine the CV: simplify the Skills section, remove redundant tools, improve hierarchy, and standardize LinkedIn/portfolio links. Curate the portfolio: remove weaker case studies and unnecessary visuals, keeping only the strongest and most relevant work. Refine the existing case study: address the identified UI/presentation issues and strengthen the storytelling around the problem, process, decisions, and outcome. Build a personal portfolio website : move away from the current platform and create a stronger, more controlled presentation framework. Add 1–2 relevant case studies: prioritize projects connected to established Armenian companies/products or other work that strengthens the target profile.
